On a summer night in Beijing, I watched a heavy rainstorm crash down outside my window. When raindrops struck the ground, they exploded into large splashes, unfolding like flowers forced open by impact. I became absorbed in watching this moment repeat, one after another.
Using a blue-ink fountain pen, I translated the forceful blooming of raindrops into lines, capturing the rhythm and intensity of a summer storm in motion on paper.
