Francine Zhang 张元碧 is a Providence-based graphic designer and a sophomore pursuing a BFA in Graphic Design @ Rhode Island School of Design

Francine Zhang works in brand design, packaging, poster series, typography, typeface design, postcards, and book design. She explores graphic design as a medium for communicating ideas, while experimenting with a wide range of formal possibilities. She is especially interested in color and visual tension, and aims to develop her practice in motion graphics.
Francine Zhang works across multiple media, particularly oil painting and pen drawing. Her practice investigates the complex, evolving relationships between concepts while deeply engaging with her cultural background and personal experiences.
Francine Zhang is continually captivated by color, light, and form as they appear in everyday life, and strives to photograph the world from her own perspective—intimate, reflective, and poetic.
