This project was part of Unit 1: Graphic Form at RISD, where we explored the visual vocabulary of graphic design. Screw Poster investigates the visual and material qualities of a single object through type, shape, and layout. Research inspired a sharp, screw-like typeface, triangular edges, and grayscale gradients to convey depth and metallic texture. The composition follows a precise grid, with screws arranged at varying angles, opacity, and focus, creating a “drilled-in-place” order. Blurring and gradient effects suggest distance and engagement, emphasizing the object’s physicality through typographic and geometric forms alone.

Series Poster continues the object-driven concept across three coordinated posters. Typography and layout remain consistent, reinforcing the “in place” order, while each poster features an object—screw, tape or staples—treated with rotation, blur, and gradient to suggest materiality and depth. Subtle variations in edges and angles create cohesion and continuity, linking each poster visually across different spaces.
